About The Position

Capital Insurance Group (CIG) is hiring a Technology Intern for a 12-week summer internship within its Technology organization, part of the Information Services department. CIG’s IT organization delivers internal and external technology solutions, and the intern will contribute to development work while learning from team members and gaining experience with modern technologies and tools. The position is fully in-office at either the Reno, Nevada, or Phoenix, Arizona, office. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. The role pays $25 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to code in at least one object-oriented programming language; Java is preferred.
• Basic SQL and database knowledge.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for a 12-week session.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or an equivalent field.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Write code in one or more object-oriented programming languages.
• Provide unit tests during development.
• Understand and modify simple SQL.
• Learn new technologies quickly with mentorship from team members.
• Learn to use modern development tools such as Git and Jira.
• Debug and troubleshoot application issues.
• Collaborate with other developers on the team.
