About The Position

The Applied Concrete Technology Coordinator coordinates concrete production and placement activities to improve site efficiency, quality, and schedule performance. The role serves as the field link among construction, engineering, quality, batch plant personnel, suppliers, testing agencies, and subcontractors, and provides technical support for batch plant operations, mix performance, delivery, pumping, placement, testing, curing, and field troubleshooting. The position supports technically demanding concrete work, including mass concrete, structural concrete, foundations, slabs, walls, and precast. It coordinates planning, operational readiness, quality activities, issue resolution, performance tracking, and safe, environmentally responsible field practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
  • ACI, NRMCA, batch plant operator, concrete inspection, or comparable field certification.
  • Experience with batch plant commissioning, calibration, moisture correction, admixture systems, temperature control, and trial batching.
  • Experience with pumped, high-volume, continuous, mass concrete, or technically complex placements.
  • Experience using production data and root-cause analysis to reduce defects, rework, interruptions, and delays.
  • Knowledge of concrete materials, mix designs, batching, delivery, pumping, placement, finishing, curing, testing, and acceptance.
  • Knowledge of batch plants, aggregate systems, silos, mixers, scales, water and temperature-control systems, admixture systems, trucks, pumps, pipelines, and placing equipment.
  • Knowledge of production rates, haul cycles, set time, cold-joint risk, temperature effects, pumpability, reinforcement congestion, and constructability.
  • Knowledge of applicable ACI and ASTM requirements, project specifications, inspection and test plans, and concrete test methods.
  • Ability to work with drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, batch tickets, calibration reports, test reports, and nonconformance records.
  • Clear field coordination, sound judgment, written reporting, and familiarity with standard office, spreadsheet, scheduling, and document-control applications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan concrete placements, including volume, production rate, access, truck cycle time, pump setup, sequence, testing, curing, washout, and contingencies.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly concrete demand with construction, batch plants, suppliers, testing personnel, pump providers, and project controls.
  • Verify batch plant readiness, including materials, moisture correction, admixture dispensing, calibrations, batching tolerances, mixing, temperature control, utilities, maintenance, and production records.
  • Support batch plant installation, commissioning, trial batching, startup, and operational-readiness reviews.
  • Review mix designs for strength, workability, pumpability, set time, temperature, air content, segregation resistance, finishability, and placement suitability.
  • Coordinate pump selection and setup, routing, delivery sequence, placing rate, communications, cleanout, and backup plans.
  • Monitor placements and resolve issues involving batching, delivery, pumping, workability, temperature, consolidation, finishing, curing, interruptions, rejected loads, and nonconforming concrete.
  • Coordinate pre-placement inspections, sampling, testing, specimen preparation, strength tracking, acceptance requirements, and quality records.
  • Review drawings, specifications, subcontracts, schedules, technical submittals, inspection reports, and vendor data affecting concrete work.
  • Provide concrete-related input to estimates, schedules, budgets, requisitions, equipment and staffing plans, logistics studies, and supplier evaluations.
  • Coordinate field issue resolution and document decisions, corrective actions, changes, and lessons learned.
  • Promote safe and environmentally responsible batching, truck movement, pumping, material handling, washout, wastewater, and dust-control practices.
  • Track placement volume, production rate, truck turnaround, rejected loads, interruptions, testing compliance, defects, rework, and schedule impacts.
  • Support mass concrete, structural concrete, foundations, slabs, walls, precast, and other technically demanding placements.

Benefits

  • Robust benefits intended to support employees' well-being and growth; specific benefits are not listed in the posting.
