About The Position

The Applications Engineer provides solution-oriented technical and commercial support to customers, primarily by installing and training customers on Renishaw machine tool products at their facilities. The role involves understanding customer needs and developing application solutions while working with customers across a variety of industries. Internally, the engineer collaborates with Customer Service, Marketing, National Sales, and the UK product development team. The position also supports quote and presentation generation, trade shows, and new product introductions. Extensive travel is required, centered from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of electrical skills, including understanding schematics, relays, wiring, and PLCs.
At least 3 years of experience operating CNC machine tools.
At least 3 years of CNC programming experience, including G/M code.
Must demonstrate eligibility to use and access ITAR-controlled data if required for the position.
Comfort operating and programming CNC equipment and working in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical aptitude, including experience using power and hand tools, cable routing, and assembly.
Electrical aptitude, including experience with a multimeter, wiring diagrams, and wiring relays.
Ability to understand and produce technical documentation and presentations.
Understanding of engineering drawings and measurement principles, including GD&T.
Microsoft product knowledge and information technology knowledge.
Organization and ability to schedule work, set priorities, and coordinate with customers.
Interpersonal, verbal, written, and conflict-management skills.
