About The Position

The Applications Engineer develops application solutions for customers that meet stated scope requirements based on RFQs and customer requests, within allotted timeframes and quality and cost objectives. The role supports Schneider Regional Sales Managers and current and prospective customers by evaluating solutions for new equipment, modifications to existing equipment, and implementation troubleshooting. It creates customer proposals, quotes, layouts, pricing, descriptive materials, and robotic simulations when needed, and presents product and system solutions. The position collaborates with engineering, production, and R&D, maintains detailed activity records in Schneider’s CRM system, and occasionally travels to customer locations. The role reports to the Director of Applications Engineering. Schneider Packaging Equipment Company is a manufacturer of case packing and robotic palletizing solutions, serving industries including food and beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, personal care, plastics, and paper. Schneider is part of the Pacteon family of companies. The position is onsite, exempt, and has a stated base salary range of $70,000–$135,000, with an annual bonus referenced in the posting.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience with additional training in computer applications, especially Microsoft Office and AutoCAD version X.
At least 5 years of internal sales experience required.
Demonstrated success in managing customer relationships.
Experience with sales proposals and communication required.

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years in a high-technology engineering applications role is desired.
Understanding of robotic systems and packaging equipment is favored.

Responsibilities

Support Schneider Regional Sales Managers and current and prospective customers to maximize sales.
Communicate, understand, compare, and contrast available solutions for new equipment, modifications to existing equipment, and troubleshooting implementation problems.
Conceptualize solutions to applications and key customer issues and create proposals in compliance with Schneider sales procedures.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and R&D when appropriate.
Create quotes and layouts to support proposals.
Develop pricing, descriptive proposals, and robotic simulations when needed.
Present Schneider product and system solutions to Schneider Regional Managers and customers.
Maintain detailed records of activities, communications, and documents in Schneider’s CRM system.
Occasionally travel to customer locations in support of Schneider Regional Managers.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
