About The Position

This position provides technical support by diagnosing technical problems and identifying appropriate solutions through research. The role involves developing and maintaining internal department documentation, as well as creating, producing, distributing, and updating training materials (guides, videos, PowerPoint presentations) for LDH and UNO contract employees. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, scheduling, and presenting training classes in person and online, potentially involving travel within Louisiana. The role also assists in course development for special topics, manages Learning Management System (LMS) content for LDH, and evaluates training programs to assess technical training needs through surveys, interviews, and participant evaluations. Follow-up support and further training are also key aspects. The position requires adherence to and communication of policies, rules, and regulations related to technology use, and assistance with setup and support at workshops and conferences. Administrative tasks include preparing required forms for travel and material requisitions. The role involves researching educational resources, auditing and updating LMS user accounts, and running ad-hoc reports for LDH management. Additionally, the position takes a lead role in pressing unit matters, works with the unit supervisor to address them, and leads the training of new unit employees. Collaboration with the unit supervisor on developing and implementing plans for new process implementation is expected. Other tasks as directed may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associates degree with 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience with technical training or content development.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience with public speaking or presentations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support by diagnosing technical problems and identifying appropriate solutions through research.
  • Develop and maintain internal department documentation.
  • Develop, produce, distribute, and update training materials in the form of guides, videos, PowerPoint presentations, etc. to LDH and UNO contract employees.
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and present training classes in person and via online meetings; may include travel to locations within Louisiana.
  • Assist in course development of special topics as defined by state officials.
  • Manage the Learning Management System content, serving all of LDH.
  • Evaluate training programs and assess technical training needs for LDH and contract employees by survey, interview and participant evaluation; Provides follow up support and further training.
  • Adhere to and communicates policies, rules, and regulations relating to technology use.
  • Assist in setup and support at various workshops and conferences.
