About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Application Programmer for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support critical business functions. The position requires a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week onsite. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in application development and programming
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies
  • Experience with Core Java and Spring boot
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with enterprise-grade applications and financial services environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications based on business and technical requirements
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and production support activities
  • Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and security requirements
  • Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures
  • Support application releases, deployments, and post-implementation activities
  • Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability
  • Work in Agile/Scrum environments and actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
