About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an eRates Java Pricing Developer for a Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As an eRates pricing developer, you will join a technology group responsible for designing and supporting a large, high-performance, real-time trading and pricing platform. You will have the opportunity to work closely with technology-focused engineers, quantitative analysts, and traders to modernize and transform it into the next generation electronic trading and pricing platform. This role involves developing real-time analytical calculation engine frameworks and pricing methodologies to meet business requirements in electronic market-making and strategy trading.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant analytical degree
  • Core Java 8 or higher programming language experience is a must-have
  • Strong advocate for agile and modern software development/DevOps practices (iterative development, CI/CD, automated testing)
  • Experience with real-time trading system design principles such as message-driven architecture, low latency performance, multithreaded models, and SOA
  • Technical skills in Linux, Core Java, Spring Framework, Concurrent scalable development, and XML
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins
  • Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket, Artifactory, Unit testing, Unix scripting, and Database SQL queries (e.g., Oracle)
  • Clear, articulate communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing trading or pricing systems or analytics calculation engines
  • Previous experience working with front office trading, pricing, or quant teams
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Fixed Income market products and the pricing/analytics involved (Treasuries, Swaps, Futures, etc.)
  • Experience developing real-time pricing systems and analytic library integration
  • Experience building event-driven calculation frameworks such as pricing trees or Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAG)
  • Working experience with AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., Claude, GPT, Co-Pilot)
  • Advanced degree in financial engineering, math, physical sciences, or engineering

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy software in Core Java 8 or higher
  • Develop and enhance a real-time analytic calculation engine responsible for pricing and quoting products for the Rates business such as Bonds, Futures, Swaps and Agencies
  • Develop and maintain common frameworks and core services to facilitate real-time pricing/risk model development
  • Collaborate with software engineers and Quants on the implementation of trading algorithms, quantitative models, and analytical signals
  • Design extensible modules and ensure that code is cleanly written, testable and maintainable
  • Perform 3rd line support to assist in investigating production issues, defects, and performance issues
