About The Position

This role involves working on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects specifically for the semiconductor, optics, and microelectronics market. The Application Engineer will be responsible for developing customer-specific solutions and integrating them into full process workflows. This position requires close collaboration with the Sales Engineering team to identify and implement the right technical solutions for customers. The role also includes supporting and managing DELO Equipment Activities, such as UV LED lamps and dispensing systems, and driving growth through excellent technical consultation across North America. The engineer will systematically identify new technologies in cooperation with Sales and Product Management, implement them into customer production processes, conduct feasibility studies, derive follow-up measures, and present results. Maintaining communication with various DELO teams worldwide and providing comprehensive technical support to sales engineers (on-site, virtually, or by phone) are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

Located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Boston Area (MA)
Degree in Engineering, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Material Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree welcome)
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical environment — preferably as an Application Engineer in the adhesive or semiconductor/ optics/ micro electronics sector
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently and systematically
Willingness to travel as required (domestically and internationally)

Nice To Haves

Prior expertise in adhesives is not required — you will receive intensive and hands-on training at our headquarters in Germany

Responsibilities

Work on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects with a focus on the semiconductor/ optics/ micro electronics market
Take responsibility for the development of customer-specific solutions through to full process integration
Identify and implement the right technical solutions for customers in close collaboration with the Sales Engineering team
Support and manage DELO Equipment Activities, including UV LED lamps and dispensing systems
Drive growth through excellent technical consultation of customers across North America, working hand-in-hand with Sales Engineers
Systematically identify new technologies in cooperation with Sales and Product Management, and implement them into customers' production processes
Conduct feasibility studies, derive appropriate follow-up measures, and present results to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain close communication with various DELO teams worldwide
Provide comprehensive technical support to sales engineers — on-site, virtually, or by phone
