About The Position

This role involves working on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects specifically for the automotive market. The Application Engineer will be responsible for developing customer-specific solutions and ensuring their full integration into production processes. This position requires close collaboration with the Sales Engineering team to identify and implement the right technical solutions for customers across North America. The role also includes supporting DELO Equipment Activities, such as UV LED lamps and dispensing systems, and driving growth through excellent technical consultation. A key aspect of the job is identifying new technologies in cooperation with Sales and Product Management and implementing them into customer production processes. The engineer will conduct feasibility studies, derive follow-up measures, and present findings to stakeholders. Maintaining communication with global DELO teams and providing comprehensive technical support to sales engineers (on-site, virtual, or phone) are also core responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Boston Area (MA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Material Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering) or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical environment, preferably as an Application Engineer in the adhesive or automotive sector
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently and systematically
  • Willingness to travel as required (domestically and internationally)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Prior expertise in adhesives is not required, as intensive and hands-on training will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Work on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects with a focus on the automotive market
  • Take responsibility for the development of customer-specific solutions through to full process integration
  • Identify and implement the right technical solutions for customers in close collaboration with the Sales Engineering team
  • Support and manage DELO Equipment Activities, including UV LED lamps and dispensing systems
  • Drive growth through excellent technical consultation of customers across North America, working hand-in-hand with Sales Engineers
  • Systematically identify new technologies in cooperation with Sales and Product Management, and implement them into customers' production processes
  • Conduct feasibility studies, derive appropriate follow-up measures, and present results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain close communication with various DELO teams worldwide
  • Provide comprehensive technical support to sales engineers — on-site, virtually, or by phone
