About The Position

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology. This role involves utilizing an engineering background to provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support, including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP). The position requires providing technical support to Cadence customers in backend digital design implementation and signoff, covering areas such as Place and Route, design closure, and timing/power signoff. The engineer will guide customers on leveraging Cadence technologies to meet design goals and project schedules, conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations, and drive technical evaluations/benchmarks to successful completion. Collaboration with Research and Design (R&D) is key to enhancing tools and methodologies, and the role involves driving the adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies, amending and augmenting flows as needed. Capturing best practices and lessons learned from evaluations and benchmarks to improve future engagements is also a responsibility. Some telecommuting is permitted, and availability to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States is required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Physical design implementation, including place, route, and timing closure of blocks at 16 nm and below technology nodes.
  • Utilize scripting languages, including TCL, Perl, and Python to automate design analysis and optimization.
  • Design Rule Checking (DRC) analysis and fixing.
  • Low power design, methodologies and implementation.
  • Clock tree methodology using EDA tools.
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP).
  • Provide technical support to Cadence customers in the areas of backend digital design Implementation and Signoff, including Place and Route, design closure, and timing/power signoff.
  • Guide customers on how to best utilize Cadence technologies to achieve their design goals and meet project schedules.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Drive technical evaluations/benchmarks to success.
  • Work closely with Research and Design (R&D) to enhance the tools and methodologies to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Drive adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies.
  • Amend and augment the flow as needed.
  • Capture best practices and lessons learned from current evaluations/benchmarks and utilize them to improve efficiency and success rate in next engagements.
