Application Analysts, Pharmacy Automation serve as a key liaison between Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Systems, and vendor partners, ensuring pharmacy automation technologies function seamlessly across Baptist Health. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, medication management workflows, automation technologies, and healthcare information systems. Analysts translate operational needs into reliable technology solutions that improve system performance, streamline workflows, support medication safety, and enhance patient care. A significant portion of an analyst's day is devoted to resolving break-fix issues, performing routine application and hardware maintenance, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting pharmacy automation technologies. Responsibilities include supporting automated dispensing cabinets, pharmacy applications, interfaces, barcode medication systems, and related technologies while assisting with system upgrades, new implementations, software updates, workflow validation, and vendor coordination. Much of the coordination and follow-up for these responsibilities is conducted through structured communication channels, including Microsoft Teams, email, support tickets, and scheduled project meetings. Application Analysts, Pharmacy Automation also spend time collaborating with Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Systems, Clinical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, operational leaders, and vendor partners to identify opportunities for workflow optimization and technology improvements. Their week may include implementation planning, testing events, project meetings, training sessions, and production support activities. Throughout the day, analysts work directly with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and other end users to resolve technical issues, implement enhancements, support onboarding activities, and ensure pharmacy automation systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational priorities. Although remote eligible, this position requires regular on-site presence to support pharmacy hardware, implementation activities, and hands-on troubleshooting. Participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends, is required.
