About The Position

Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Appellate Practice in its Tampa, Florida office. The firm’s national appellate team handles matters in federal and state courts across the country, including the Supreme Court of the United States. Its attorneys practice in major markets and are familiar with local appellate court customs and procedures. The practice has produced hundreds of published appellate opinions and thousands of unpublished decisions, and handles civil appeals and extraordinary relief proceedings across a wide range of legal areas, including class actions and mass torts, commercial litigation, construction, elder law, employment, healthcare, insurance coverage and bad faith, products liability, intellectual property, and toxic torts and environmental litigation. The successful candidate will evaluate trial records, prepare effective briefs, analyze and frame factual and legal issues in light of appellate standards of review, conduct legal research, and present oral argument.

Requirements

At least 8 years of appellate experience; the posting describes an ideal range of 8 to 15 years.
Working knowledge of state and federal civil and appellate procedure.
Excellent advocacy and writing skills.
Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
