About The Position

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an APP to work in their CC APP unit in Boston, MA. This is a teaching hospital with an ICU practice setting utilizing Epic for EMR/Charting. The APP will function as a "responding clinician" for an average daily census of 7 patients in a 10-bed unit. Patient age group is adult. Responsibilities include rounding with the Attending in the morning, completing tasks, and rounding again in the afternoon. The role does not involve procedures such as intubations, lines, vents, transplants, ECHO, heads, EVD, or complex neuro stroke. There may be 1-2 burn patients. The position requires 2 years of critical care experience and board certifications in Acute Care with ICU experience. Only PAs will be considered due to licensing timelines. ACLS and BLS certifications are required, along with a DEA. Credentialing takes approximately 90 days. This is a local position with no travel, and candidates who can commute via train, subway, or car are preferred. Overtime is paid at the same rate as regular hours for any hours worked beyond 40 per week. Holiday pay is 1.4x. The first 8 hours of orientation are non-billable.

Requirements

  • Board Certifications Req’d in Acute Care with the ICU experience
  • MA State License (only PAs considered due to licensing time)
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • DEA required
  • 2 years of experience in critical care
  • Must apply before client can initiate the appointment
  • Local providers who can stay in town preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally local providers who can stay in town
  • Prefers 4 weekend shifts per month (either Fri, Sat, or Sun)
  • Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month
