About The Position

This role involves providing support to a surgeon in a hospital setting. The APP will manage 10-15 CVICU/step down patients per day, assist with 1-2 surgeries, and care for adult/geriatric patients within the CT Surgery department. The hospital has 199 beds and utilizes Cerner EMR. Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and Aline placement. The APP will work 4 days a month from 7 am to 3 pm, with on-call duties from 3 pm to 7 am.

Requirements

• Board Certification: PA
• License Required: AZ
• DEA: yes
• Minimum Experience Required: 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH
• Graduate from a university program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) - Required OR Master's Degree in Nursing - Required
• Certified or certification eligible by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physicians Assistant in the State of Arizona
• ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
• Graduate from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program – Required
• Completion of a RN/NP First Assistant Program- Required
• Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license- Required
• Medical Surgical or NP ANCC or AANP Certification- Required
• ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)

• Recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
• Proficient with EVH
