APN or PA Cardiology
About The Position
OSF HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our growing Cardiology team in Danville, Illinois. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced cardiologists in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality cardiovascular care to patients throughout the region. The APP will provide comprehensive cardiology services in an outpatient clinic setting, with potential inpatient responsibilities based on departmental needs. This role offers autonomy, strong physician collaboration, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current Illinois licensure or eligibility for Illinois licensure
- National certification as an NP or PA
- Current DEA registration or eligibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics
Nice To Haves
- Previous cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, hospitalist, or related clinical experience
- Experience managing patients with cardiovascular disease
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Provide patient education regarding cardiovascular disease prevention and management
- Coordinate care with cardiologists, primary care providers, and other specialists
- Document encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities
