About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking an API Inspection Technician to join its Bloomington, Minnesota team. The role performs API 510 and 570 inspections, organizes UTT personnel, and creates inspection plans. It may also involve performing non-destructive examination inspections on assigned field or laboratory projects. The technician works independently as a crew lead at job sites, prepares accurate and timely reports and other work documents, and follows safe work practices.

Requirements

• API 510 and API 570 certification, or some combination of API certifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post-education or formal training in non-destructive testing.
• Familiarity with NDT equipment.
• Experience with NDT methods and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Ability to work off ladders and scaffolding.
• Strong work ethic; self-starter; strong client focus; seller and a doer; punctuality; excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional safety and quality awareness; mechanical aptitude; attention to detail; and ability to work as part of a team and follow processes and procedures.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments and work long hours.

Nice To Haves

• API 653 certification (preferred, not required).
• CWI certification (a plus, not required).
• ASNT-TC-1A Level II certification in NDE methods—RT, MT, PT, UT, VT, or some combination (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform API 510 and API 570 inspections.
• Organize UTT personnel and create inspection plans.
• Perform ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections on assigned field or laboratory projects, as needed.
• Work independently as a crew lead on job sites.
• Prepare reports and other work documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Understand and use safe work practices.
