About The Position

HMT is a global leader in aboveground storage tank solutions, partnering with customers to optimize tank operations through customized services. HMT has an immediate need for an API 653 certified Inspector to perform inspections in accordance with API standards and the customer’s scope of work, following HMT’s internal processes and procedures. The inspector maintains positive relationships with clients, facilities, and customers; interprets regulations, codes, and industry standards; and ensures HMT safety policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Must hold API certification and have API inspection work experience.
• Must be technically competent and knowledgeable in the application of current inspection codes.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos.
• Ability to communicate effectively and make sound decisions.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• TWIC Card.
• Current AOCF and/or PMT III (DOT OQ).
• Current respirator fit test.
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 training.
• JLG lift operator certification, which may or may not be approved by HMT Safety Department.
• Current safety training within the last 12 months, including but not limited to confined space, fall protection, LOTO, and HazCom.

Responsibilities

• Perform API 653 inspections in accordance with the customer’s scope of work and HMT’s internal processes and procedures.
• Maintain a positive relationship between the client, facility, and customer.
• Properly interpret regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Ensure HMT safety policies and procedures are followed.
