Apartment Maintenance Technician - San Marco Area
About The Position
GMC Property Management is seeking a motivated Maintenance Make Ready Technician for the San Marco Area. The company is family owned and managed and has operated in the multifamily industry for over 30 years. The technician assists with apartment make-readies, completes work orders and preventive maintenance, repairs building features and appliances, and performs grounds work. HVAC maintenance, repair, and replacement knowledge is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position, with salary commensurate with experience and monthly bonus potential for on-call duties and resident renewals.
Requirements
- At least two years in the maintenance industry, as stated in the introductory description.
- One year of property maintenance experience is listed as preferred in the requirements section.
- Ability to use power and hand tools effectively and safely.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Time management skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance, or reliable transportation.
- Must pass a criminal background screening before employment.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and walk the property in its entirety.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team, as needed.
- Willingness to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to maintain, repair, and replace them.
- One year of property maintenance experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with make-readies, including electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry work as needed.
- Complete work orders as directed by the Community Manager and/or Lead Maintenance.
- Repair showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls, and building exteriors.
- Complete the preventive maintenance program.
- Perform grounds work, including picking up, sweeping, and light landscaping.
- Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems if qualified; this is preferred but not required.
- Represent the company professionally and perform other related duties as required.
- Rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call.
