About The Position

As an AP Supervisor for PCL Industrial Construction Co. in Houston, Texas, you’ll have the opportunity to support project and operational success by managing financial transactions, monitoring accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Several years of progressive experience in accounts payable or accounting.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role strongly preferred.
  • Construction or project-based accounting experience is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, job cost accounting, and general ledger concepts.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily accounts payable activities, including vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, expense reimbursements, and payment runs.
  • Ensure AP transactions are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and legislative standards.
  • Lead, coach, and support AP team members, including workload management, training, and performance feedback.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies, escalations, and vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and segregation of duties.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and accuracy within AP operations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, procurement, treasury, payroll, and accounting leadership.
