About The Position

We are a successful, profitable and growing San Antonio-based commercial real estate company that owns and manages almost 3.5 million square feet of commercial property throughout the Southwest but primarily in Texas. The Company has been in business for more than 25 years and the majority of our properties are multi-tenant retail developments. The Company owns, develops, manages and leases its entire portfolio of properties with a small team of professionals. We are seeking an Accounts Payable with some exposure to the commercial real estate industry. This individual will support the Controller/Accounting Team in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting is required
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Yardi-Voyager real estate software
Organization and attention to detail
Dependability & good communication and written skills.
Ability to handle change and work independently

Responsibilities

Scan invoices to Property Managers for their data entry through our accounting system
Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of vendor invoices and supporting documentation
Verify appropriate authorization and coding for all invoices
Monitor daily Utility invoices
Prepare weekly checks for payments for 70 properties– One Check Run for payables over $5,000 and Second Check Run for payables under $5,000
Process monthly sales tax returns.
1099 & 1098 annual submittal
Research paid and/or unpaid invoices
Address and resolve payment discrepancies and issues with managers
Maintain vendor records
Maintain organized records of invoices, payments and other accounts payable documentation
Assist/process month-end close/year-end close.
Assist Accounting Department/Team as needed with other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required.
