About The Position

The Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Specialist provides direct, trauma-informed advocacy to youth and families navigating complex and vulnerable moments. This role is part of the T.R.A.C.E. (Team Response to Anti-Trafficking and Child Exploitation) initiative, working with law enforcement, child welfare, medical, and mental health partners to ensure youth are seen, supported, and protected. The ideal candidate thrives on building trust, responding in crisis, and supporting youth on their path to healing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Two+ years’ experience working with children, families, or trauma-informed care.
  • Professional experience in working with victims of sex and labor trafficking, the criminal justice or child welfare system.
  • Ability to build trust with youth and navigate sensitive, high-stress situations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to respond to crisis situations, including evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to youth impacted by trafficking or at risk of exploitation.
  • Build trusting relationships with youth and caregivers, helping meet immediate needs like safety, shelter, and stability.
  • Offer on-site advocacy during forensic interviews and medical exams.
  • Help youth identify strengths, build self-efficacy, and develop skills for long-term success.
  • Connect youth and families to critical resources, including mental health services, housing, and legal support.
  • Educate youth and caregivers on abuse dynamics, victim rights, and available systems of support.
  • Partner with law enforcement, child welfare, and community providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team efforts, including T.R.A.C.E. initiatives.
  • Support investigations and court processes, including accompaniment and preparation.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
  • Track outcomes and contribute to program evaluation and reporting.
  • Stay current on best practices in trafficking response and child advocacy.
