About The Position

Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Manager of Annual Giving role. The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for Wesley Community Foundation’s annual, employee and mid-level giving programs. This position develops and implements fundraising plans, financial objectives and strategies with the goal of retaining donors, growing the donor base, and increasing both the number and value of gifts bestowed. Key focuses and strategies include the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects in assigned programs. Find your sense of belonging at Wesley! Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Driving is an essential function and/or a legitimate business purpose for this position; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required as a condition of employment.
  • Two plus years of development experience and success, including annual giving (mid-level and employee giving a plus) and volunteer management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in one-on-one gift solicitations.
  • Knowledge of PC operations and standard software packages such as Microsoft M365 as well as database experience (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, motivate and lead in a collaborative setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous and able to balance priorities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, innovation, and enthusiasm regarding cause-related nonprofit organizations; commendable work ethic and team-player skills.
  • Ability to relate to and interact successfully with all people, including those of considerable achievement and financial means.

Responsibilities

  • Manages annual giving programs including annual, employee and mid-level campaign preparation and implementation, direct mail, related marketing materials, reporting, communication, online giving, etc.
  • Sets goals and manages the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship initiatives and activities of assigned and self-assigned donors and prospects.
  • Collaborates and strategizes with major gift officers regarding the mid-level donor program and the two-way transfer of donors and prospects between mid-level and major donor programs.
  • Serves in the key staff role for managing annual giving and many stewardship events; helps manage and staff annual fundraising events.
  • Utilizes the donor/prospect management system as it pertains to annual giving to guide cultivation and solicitation activities and to provide status progress reports.
  • Enters donor, prospect and volunteer data into Raiser’s Edge NXT and runs reports as needed (with support from the manager–foundation operations and senior development specialist).
  • Prepares tailored solicitation materials such as direct mail letters, gift proposals, newsletters, presentation pieces and other materials as needed.
  • Designs and drives the Foundation’s annual, employee and mid-level campaigns – including volunteer recruitment, training and goal setting plus collaborates with Foundation staff and campus leadership.
  • Solicits donors and prospects in the mid-level donor program; grows program via identification and qualification.
  • Participates in many Foundation stewardship initiatives such as giving and legacy societies and annual gift acknowledgement letters.
  • Attends resident town and council meetings plus campus events when directed.
  • Is punctual and demonstrates a commendable work-ethic, accountable for time spent judiciously during the workday; keeps shared Outlook calendar accurate and up to date.
