Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at KennelCare. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a kennel setting, including keeping animals and their surroundings safe, clean, and comfortable. The attendant feeds and waters pets, monitors their health and behavior, supervises play, assists with brushing and bathing, and handles laundry and pet belongings. This is a physically active position involving exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including noting elimination.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
