Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Hope Animal Clinic. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet care setting. The attendant helps maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment; provides food and fresh water; monitors pets’ health and well-being; supervises play; and assists with brushing and bathing. The role also includes handling laundry and pets’ belongings and reporting unusual observations to management. The work can be physically demanding and involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal messes. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one’s feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and well-being of each pet guest, including observing their waste.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
