Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Club Fetch to provide hands-on care for pet guests. The role includes maintaining clean and safe animal areas, feeding and watering pets, monitoring their health and well-being, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. It is an active position that involves standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent stair climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work that can be physically demanding and messy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Provide meals and fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings so they remain clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
