CityVet Lovers Lane - Animal Care Assistant/ Cross Train Client Service Specialist
About The Position
CityVet Lovers Lane is hiring for a cross-trained role covering Animal Care Assistant (ACA) and Client Service Specialist (CSS) duties. The ACA provides primary care for animals under the facility’s supervision, attending to their physical and behavioral needs with professional, conscientious, and compassionate care. The role also helps maintain cleanliness and sanitation in cages, runs, and exam rooms. The CSS portion supports clinic operations and client service by managing appointments, welcoming clients, coordinating check-ins and discharge information, communicating appointment delays, and helping prioritize client needs to support an efficient daily workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist height.
- Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
- Computer proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide animals with appropriate housing, bathing, walking, food, water, bedding, toys, mental stimulation, enrichment, and social interaction.
- Monitor animals’ physical and behavioral health, identify issues or changes that may require action, and report them promptly to a supervisor.
- Accurately record and maintain patient records, including vital sign measurements, while animals are under the facility’s care.
- Frequently service cages, runs, and exam rooms to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
- Manage appointment check-ins, book new appointments, and coordinate with the team on appropriate discharge information for grooming, clinic, walk-in, technician, boarding, and retail appointments.
- Understand, communicate, and prioritize scheduled appointments, client education, and lobby triage according to vaccine, wellness, parasite, and retail needs.
- Greet and welcome clients, open the door, check patients in, notify clients of appointment delays, assist clients while they wait, and alert staff when clients arrive.
