Angel Tree Coordinator (7463)
About The Position
This position is responsible for managing the Angel Tree Program, which includes recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers to ensure adequate staffing for Christmas program needs. The role also involves preparing records and reports for the Christmas program. The Angel Tree Coordinator will also be involved in warehouse duties such as lifting and stacking donations, distributing items, cleaning assigned areas, and managing trash disposal. Maintaining good relationships with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army is also a key aspect of the role. Additionally, the position involves assisting with angel tree pick-ups and performing other related duties as needed, including assisting in the maintenance and operations of the Christmas warehouse and loading dock.
Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Manages the Angel Tree Program
- Recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers' work, ensuring adequate staffing to meet Christmas program needs
- Prepares records and reports for the Christmas program
- Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse
- Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse
- Cleans and services assigned areas in the Christmas Center
- Picks up trash, empties garbage containers, and removes all trash to area for disposal
- Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army
- Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse
- Assists with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations
- Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Christmas warehouse and loading dock area
- Assists in working in all areas of the Christmas warehouse operations as needed
- Performs special projects as needed
- Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein
- Performs other related work as required
