About The Position

DMC John Dingell VA Hospital is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist to work with residents. This role offers increased compensation and covers a variety of cases including Vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, urology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology, GI, IR, MRI, and plastics. Cases that are not included are cardiac and OB.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO).
Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program.
Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
Valid medical license in the state of Michigan.
DEA registration.
Experience working with residents.
Proficiency in administering anesthesia for various surgical specialties (Vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, urology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology, GI, IR, MRI, plastics).

Nice To Haves

Experience in a VA hospital setting.
Experience with cardiac or OB anesthesia (though not required for this role).

Responsibilities

Administer anesthesia to patients for a variety of surgical and medical procedures.
Work with residents in an educational and supervisory capacity.
Manage patient care before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
Monitor patient vital signs and physiological status.
Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
