The Anesthesiologist assists in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department. Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. The Anesthesiologist provides clinical anesthesiology services and patient care pre- and post-op. Monitors patients while in surgery. Cares for patients in ICU, short stay unit, acute pain management, and emergency airway management. Reviews medical files and lab results. The Anesthesiologist informs patients about risks associated with anesthesia.
