About The Position
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an Anesthesiologist - Pain Medicine to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. This role involves joining a well-organized Department of Anesthesiology with strong leadership and a collaborative team approach. The practice will focus on an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in navigating perioperative processes in collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff. Key responsibilities include performing interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and epidurals, managing medication plans for chronic conditions, and preparing/administering anesthetics and pain medication. The department is equipped with modern anesthesia equipment. The role also includes mentoring and supervising anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
Requirements
- Active or eligible for a NYS License
- Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Board eligibility or certification in Pain Medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
Responsibilities
- Practice an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in navigating perioperative process, in close friendly collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff.
- Focus on interventional procedures (nerve blocks, epidurals) and medication plans for chronic conditions.
- Prepare and administer general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
- Perform venous and arterial punctures.
- Mentor and supervise anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
