About The Position
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an Anesthesiologist - Pain Medicine to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. This role is part of a redesigned healthcare campus featuring a new hospital with advanced emergency care, labor and delivery suites, and surgical services, as well as a Health & Wellness Institute for outpatient services. The position involves practicing an expanded Anesthesia Care model, taking a leadership role in perioperative processes in collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff. The focus will be on interventional procedures such as nerve blocks and epidurals, and medication plans for chronic conditions. The department is equipped with modern anesthesia equipment, including Video-Laryngoscopy, SonoSite Ultrasound Machines, Ambu FOB Systems, FloTrack System, and AccuView vein finding system. The role includes preparing and administering anesthetics and pain medication, performing venous and arterial punctures, and mentoring anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
Requirements
- Active or eligible for a NYS License
- Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Board eligibility or certification in Pain Medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
- Perform venous and arterial punctures.
- Mentor and supervise anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
- Focus on interventional procedures (nerve blocks, epidurals) and medication plans for chronic conditions.
- Take a leadership role in navigating perioperative processes in close collaboration with surgeons and nursing staff.
