About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician works in the OR at Unity Hospital and supports the daily functions of the Anesthesia Department by managing anesthesia equipment and supplies. The role requires attention to detail and commitment to quality control. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with a schedule spanning days, evenings, nights, and every other weekend.

Requirements

• Ability to meet the described heavy clinical physical demands, including continual lifting of more than 50 pounds, pushing and pulling patients or equipment, and working in awkward or restrictive positions.
• Ability to maintain balance and coordination in confined, uneven, or emergent care settings and perform fine and gross motor tasks.
• High sensory acuity and the ability to function under significant emotional and cognitive demands in high-pressure clinical situations.
• May be required to complete mask-fit testing and TB screening.

Nice To Haves

• Previous anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain anesthesia equipment, identify malfunctioning equipment, take necessary action, and perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies for use; calibrate and check equipment before each use.
• Assist with procedures as assigned.
• Stock anesthesia carts with high-risk medications; duties may involve handling medications, sharps, and syringes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and adequately supplied workroom.
• Help maintain supply inventory and ensure adequate supply levels.
• Complete monthly pharmacy inspections.
