About The Position
Assist physicians with physiological monitoring of patients and with preparation of drugs, fluids, anesthetics, and equipment ancillary to operative interventions and other procedures requiring anesthesia. Set up, operate, and maintain monitoring and anesthesia equipment. Complete established position competencies within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a surgical attendant or nursing assistant in an acute care or ambulatory surgery environment.
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as an anesthesia technician.
- Anesthesia Technician certification/licensure.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate and prepare the operating room with appropriate anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures and cases, including setting up and calibrating monitoring devices.
- Assist the anesthesiologist and healthcare team with patient care and transportation.
- Clean, repair, and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Serve as a role model for service excellence and commit to Studer Principles and “must haves.”
- Use resources efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain a safe environment.
- Address patient population-specific needs.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
