About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the Anesthesia Technician maintains anesthesia supplies and equipment and provides assistance to the anesthesia staff. This PRN/OCC position has variable hours per pay period and varied shifts at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, a 444-bed hospital and part of Covenant Health.

Requirements

• No minimum education level is specified. Any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks is acceptable, typically equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
• No minimum experience is specified.
• No licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
• Provide assistance to the anesthesia staff as requested.
• Receive and maintain an inventory of anesthesia supplies.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, including exchange carts and gas machines.
• Assist with ordering and receiving OR supplies, entering OR charges in the computer, transporting patients, and other OR-related duties.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments; work toward goals and objectives; and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
