About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician I assists with daily anesthesia needs at Northern Arizona Healthcare Summit Surgery Center. The position supports anesthesia providers house-wide by performing daily anesthesia machine checkouts, turning over rooms between cases, transporting patients with necessary equipment and monitors, and maintaining anesthesia supplies throughout the house-wide anesthesia cluster. The technician is expected to know anesthesia equipment and tools and deliver necessary equipment to providers. Before performing patient transport duties, the employee must successfully complete a competency-based training program for BLS certification.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
BLS certification before independently performing job duties or within 60 days after hire.
Successful completion of a competency-based training program for BLS certification before performing patient transport duties.

Responsibilities

Perform room turnovers between cases.
Transport patients from Critical Care Units with all necessary equipment and monitors.
Maintain necessary stock in rooms and all NORA locations.
Perform daily anesthesia machine checks.
Deliver necessary equipment to anesthesia providers house-wide.
Report safety-related incidents promptly through the Midas/RDE tool.
Attend safety-related training, perform work safely, monitor the work environment for possible safety issues, and ensure others work safely.
Comply with applicable state and federal regulations, statutes, and company policies.
Keep required certifications and licenses current and valid, when applicable.
Complete mandatory company modules and required job-specific training within the specified time frame.
Obtain and maintain clinical competencies appropriate to assigned roles.
