About The Position

The Anesthesia (Hemodynamic) Technician in Surgery works according to established policies and procedures and is responsible for troubleshooting anesthesia equipment, setting up A-lines, assisting with pre-procedure blocks, and scrubbing in to assist with procedures. Appropriate training will be provided. The position participates in an on-call rotation that includes evenings, holidays, and weekends; on-call hours depend on departmental needs. The position reports to the Director of Surgical Services for overall work performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain CPR certification (HCP).
• Basic technical skills to provide equipment troubleshooting support within Anesthesia.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry an average of more than 100 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
• Ability to respond to a call within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment.
• Properly position patients for surgery.
• Scrub in to assist with procedures when on call and on weekends.
• Assist with setting up A-lines and pre-procedure blocks.
• Assist with the induction of children.
• Clean rooms properly.
• Order and stock supplies.
• Transport patients to and from the inpatient unit.
• Interact effectively with hospital staff, offices, patients, families, and guests.
