About The Position

The Anesthesia Tech performs tasks associated with reprocessing reusable anesthesia supplies and equipment, managing inventory of reprocessed and single-use anesthesia equipment and supplies, and supporting patient care in accordance with established customer service, family-centered care, resource-utilization, and infection-control standards. Duties include turning over anesthesia cases, terminally cleaning anesthesia carts and machines, and preparing anesthesia and surgical supplies and equipment. The role may provide vacation coverage for the OR Core if necessary.

The Anesthesia Department provides inpatient and outpatient anesthesia services to children at the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and West Campuses. Additional department services include respiratory and airway management and professional consultation for patients requiring unusual pain-management techniques or analgesic nerve blocks. Parental involvement during anesthesia induction is encouraged whenever safely possible to help minimize patient anxiety and fear.

Requirements

• One year of anesthesia aide/tech experience or CPD experience.
