About The Position

Assist physicians in physiological monitoring of patients and in preparing drugs, fluids, anesthetics, and equipment for operative interventions and other procedures requiring anesthesia. Set up, operate, and maintain monitoring and anesthesia equipment. Complete the position’s established competencies within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a surgical attendant or nursing assistant in an acute care or ambulatory surgery environment.
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support certification from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as an anesthesia technician.
• Anesthesia Technician certification or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate and prepare the operating room with appropriate anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures and cases, including setting up and calibrating monitoring devices.
• Assist the anesthesiologist and healthcare team with patient care and transportation.
• Clean and repair equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure it functions properly.
• Serve as a role model for service excellence and commit to Studer Principles and “must haves.”
• Use resources efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Address patient population-specific needs.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
