About The Position

Anesthesia technicians are integral members of the anesthesia patient care team. They assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists with specialized and complex invasive and non-invasive anesthesia procedures. Working in collaboration with licensed anesthesia providers, they prepare patients and assist in monitoring patient condition during anesthesia procedures, taking into account patients’ age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs. They also ensure the acquisition, preparation, and application of equipment and supplies required to administer anesthesia.

The role is in the Operating Room at Chelsea Hospital, where more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually across gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery. The position is part-time and contingent, with a day shift schedule, and is not benefit eligible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 12 months of related experience required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of formal education is preferred; a background in medical terminology, health sciences, EKG, or pharmacology would be helpful.
• Critical care unit experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
