About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. This is a non-professional role where the Anesthesia Technician, under the supervision of the Lead Anesthesia Tech, is responsible for certain aspects of patient care in the operating room. The Anesthesia Technician practices within the limits of hospital policies and procedures, adheres to department and unit standards, and understands the legal consequences of and is accountable for their interventions.

Requirements

  • HS/GED plus one (1) year patient care experience
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans anesthesia machines, ventilators, and other equipment
  • Performs chemical analysis of blood for blood sugar and electrolytes
  • Stocks anesthesia workroom
  • Calculates, charts, and interprets results of blood analysis
  • Assists in the orientation of new personnel
  • May perform other duties, as assigned
