About The Position

The Anesthesia Tech II demonstrates a clear understanding of aseptic techniques through clinical practice and has working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies used by anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologists (CRNAs). The role supports anesthesia services by maintaining supplies and equipment, preparing invasive monitoring lines, and assisting anesthesia clinicians during perioperative emergencies.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1–2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech.

Responsibilities

• Restock anesthesia supplies, equipment, and drugs in the operating room after each case.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and order supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment used to deliver anesthetic services.
• Set up invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia.
• Respond to and assist the anesthesiologist or CRNA with perioperative anesthesia emergencies.
• Demonstrate competency in tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services-specific competency list.
• Communicate appropriate information to the anesthesiologist or CRNA and perioperative nursing staff.
• Transport and deliver items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility, excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs.
• Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable standards.
• Comply with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
