About The Position

Founded in Vancouver in 2016, FORM is the sports technology company behind the award-winning FORM Smart Swim Goggles. Since launching in 2019, our goggles have earned global recognition, including Red Dot, iF Design, and Global Triathlon awards, and are trusted by professional athletes, age-group triathletes, and swimmers looking to get better. We’re a talented, tight-knit team that’s fun to work with and serious about building great products. Together, we bring decades of consumer product experience spanning sports eyewear, interface design, and activity-tracking algorithms. We’re looking for an Android Developer to play a proactive role in the design, development, and release of FORM’s Android app. Reporting to the Mobile Team Lead, you’ll contribute across the entire development lifecycle—from shaping requirements and UI decisions to building, testing, and deploying the app. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in code ownership, values clean architecture, and is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences. Requirements

2+ years of experience as an Android developer.
Working knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java within the Android ecosystem
Experience developing native Android apps
Familiar with Android SDKs such as Jetpack Compose, Jetpack Navigation, and Coroutines
Understanding of MVVM architecture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and IoT is preferred but not required
Current with emerging AI technologies
Understanding of SaaS
Working knowledge of CI/CD such as Jenkins

Responsibilities

Design, architect, and build FORM’s Android app with a modern and rich UI.
Work closely with UX and product teams to transform requirements and mockups to product features.
Collaborate with other developers to establish best practices for the team.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture and coding practice discussions for new features and the overall app.
Identify new mobile technologies, trends, and opportunities, and explain how they might relate to improving our products and business.
Maintain the highest level of product reliability, code quality, and reusability by writing unit tests and integration tests to validate new software features.
Adopt AI-assisted development practices that improve team productivity and code quality
