About The Position

TekWissen is recruiting an Android Developer for an 11-month temporary assignment with its client, a global professional services firm specializing in digital transformation, business process management, analytics, and AI-driven solutions. The role is onsite in Dallas, Texas, or New York, New York.

The developer will build Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android architecture and UI practices. The position emphasizes security-sensitive applications, API integration, testing, automated build pipelines, and Google Play release management. The role requires professional Android development experience and expertise with Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Expert-level Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow, and ability to read Java.
• Hands-on experience with MVVM, MVI, or similar unidirectional data flow patterns, state hoisting, and dependency injection.
• Strong UI fundamentals, including state management, lifecycle, adaptive layouts, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience with a declarative UI framework.
• Experience building security-sensitive applications, including biometric authentication, secure storage or encryption, and OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect.
• Proficiency with JUnit and Compose UI testing; experience writing fakes or test doubles and testing coroutines or Flows.
• Experience with automated build pipelines; comfort with Gradle Kotlin DSL, build flavors, and version catalogs.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, including authenticated sessions and token refresh.
• Experience with Google Play Console, app signing, staged rollouts, and release management.
• Proficiency with Git and merge-request-based code review.

Nice To Haves

• Kotlin Multiplatform experience.
• Jetpack Compose experience is strongly preferred; React, SwiftUI, or Flutter experience also counts.
• Robolectric experience.
• GitLab CI experience is preferred.
• Ktor client experience; Retrofit or OkHttp experience transfers.
• GitLab experience is preferred.
