About The Position

The Analytics & Reporting Engineer works within the Division of Strategic Operations and Analytics (SOA), part of the Office of Policy and Strategy at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). SOA analyzes and improves agency-wide operations, supports HPD programs in using data, and advances agency goals. The engineer helps make HPD data more accessible, reliable, and reusable for reporting and analytics by building structured datasets, automations, and data flows. The role focuses on hands-on development of data pipelines, curated datasets, and data flows in SQL Server; reusable scripts and code for reporting and analytics; and reports, dashboards, and related data flows or models. The work supports agency programs including homeless placement services, homebuyer assistance, housing distress and compliance, and fair housing. The engineer uses independent judgment and initiative to implement scalable data models, automated workflows, structured datasets, and BI data flows that enable more efficient reporting, research, and analytics.
