About The Position

The Analytics & Reporting Engineer works within the Division of Strategic Operations and Analytics (SOA), part of the Office of Policy and Strategy at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development. The role helps make agency data more accessible, reliable, and reusable for reporting and analytics by building structured datasets, automations, and data flows. The work supports HPD offices and programs, including homeless placement services, homebuyer assistance, housing distress and compliance, and fair housing. The position focuses on hands-on development of data pipelines, curated datasets, and data flows in SQL Server, as well as reusable scripts and code for reporting and analytics. The engineer creates and maintains reports, dashboards, and related data flows or models. Using independent judgment and initiative, the role develops scalable data models, automated workflows, and well-structured datasets and BI data flows to improve reporting, research, and analytics for agency programs.
