Analytics Engineer - Data Platform

Aline
•$110,000 - $140,000

About The Position

Aline is building a resident lifecycle platform for senior living that creates one record for each resident from first inquiry through end of life. As part of the Data Platform team, the Analytics Engineer will build the data foundation that gives operators a canonical, reliable record of residents and communities. The role’s models will serve as a ground truth for reporting and for AI agents that may identify residents at risk, recommend next actions, and act on them. The Analytics Engineer owns and extends dbt models on Snowflake, manages CDC-based ingestion pipelines, and develops a governed semantic layer for reporting and analytics. The role builds reliable, tested gold-layer datasets for BI and downstream AI workloads; supports multi-tenant reporting, row-level security, and data access design; and monitors data quality, freshness, pipeline health, warehouse usage, and query performance. The position also works directly with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other teams to translate reporting needs into well-modeled data.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on Snowflake experience.
  • Production experience building, testing, and maintaining dbt models at scale.
  • Experience with CDC pipelines and ELT tools such as Fivetran.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, ideally including semantic model or measures work.
  • Understanding of medallion architecture and how gold-layer data supports BI and AI use cases.
  • Comfort with Git-based version control and CI/CD for analytics code, with dbt and SQL changes reviewed and deployed like software.
  • Working knowledge of an orchestration tool such as dbt Cloud, Airflow, Dagster, or similar for scheduling and monitoring pipelines.
  • Python for scripting and automation around data workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical modeling decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a lean team and owning problems end-to-end.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a multi-tenant SaaS environment is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to data ontology or semantic modeling for AI and agentic workloads.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data privacy considerations such as HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Own and extend dbt models on Snowflake using bronze, silver, and gold medallion architecture patterns.
  • Manage CDC-based ingestion pipelines using Fivetran and similar tools to land transactional-system data in Snowflake.
  • Broaden Snowflake and dbt models into the semantic layer for reporting and analytics, moving logic from point tools such as Power BI into a governed source of truth.
  • Build reliable, well-tested gold-layer datasets for BI reporting and downstream AI and agentic workloads.
  • Apply data modeling best practices, including star schemas and SCDs, for multi-tenant SaaS reporting.
  • Collaborate with data operations, platform engineering, product teams, and others.
  • Write dbt tests and documentation to make models trustworthy and self-explanatory for downstream consumers.
  • Monitor pipeline health and data freshness, and build alerting to surface issues before they affect reports or dashboards.
  • Monitor Snowflake warehouse usage and query performance, and tune models and warehouses as data volume grows.
  • Work with stakeholders in Product, Sales, and Customer Success to turn reporting requests into well-modeled data.
  • Support row-level security and data access design to keep multi-tenant customer data properly isolated.
