About The Position

The Analytics Business Partner is embedded with IEM’s Manufacturing and Fabrication team and serves as its primary analytics partner. The role works directly with leaders to understand business challenges, determine what data is needed and whether it is reliable, interpret findings, and help leadership make evidence-based decisions. It is part of the Business Analytics team within IEM’s Data and Analytics team, with support from the Data Platform team for data models and pipelines. The role owns analytics for its business area end to end, including the roadmap, metric definitions, analysis, BI and AI-enabled deliverables, validation, quality assurance, and recurring leadership reporting. It partners with subject-matter experts, system owners, Analytics Engineers, and Data Engineers to improve data quality and build governed, trusted metrics. The position is fully remote within the United States and may require up to 20% travel to IEM facilities.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in BI, analytics, or a data-driven operations role, with evidence that analysis influenced business decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of the supported business area or substantial embedded experience within a similar team.
  • Analytical depth, including the ability to investigate questionable metrics, form and test hypotheses, and explain findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience using Tableau and AI tools to build analytics and accelerate analysis, with examples of their impact.
  • Consultative judgment and confidence communicating what leaders need to know, not only what they asked for.
  • Experience working across multiple source systems and with the subject-matter experts who own them, including reconciling definitions and building trust in the data.
  • Strong judgment in presenting data and ability to recognize when an AI-built result is incorrect.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake and dbt, or demonstrated ability to learn them quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Infor SyteLine/CloudSuite Industrial production data, including jobs, routings, labor, and work in progress.
  • Familiarity with production and fabrication metrics such as OEE, cycle time, throughput, scrap/rework, schedule attainment, and labor efficiency.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or higher.
  • Exposure to sheet metal fabrication, welding, or CNC/nesting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with business leaders to understand problems, identify needed data, assess its availability and accuracy, interpret its meaning, and challenge questions when appropriate.
  • Investigate changes in KPIs, determine root causes, and provide recommendations rather than reporting results alone.
  • Own the analytics roadmap for the supported area, shape requests, prioritize work based on business value and ROI, and decide what to build, retire, or handle without a dashboard.
  • Define KPIs with subject-matter experts and document business logic to Business Analytics standards.
  • Partner with Analytics Engineers to incorporate metrics into the governed data layer and create consistent definitions across reports.
  • Work with system owners and the Data Platform team to identify data quality issues, reconcile definitions, and drive fixes at the source.
  • Design, build, maintain, validate, and quality-check the area’s analytics using BI and AI tools, with the analytical story included.
  • Partner with Analytics Engineers on dbt models and certified data sources, and with Data Engineers when new source data is needed.
  • Help design and run operating reviews, support planning and goal-setting, and own recurring leadership reporting, including written explanations of what changed and why.
  • Train users, encourage adoption, and help leaders become more comfortable answering their own data questions.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support employee well-being, growth, and long-term success.
