•$120,000 - $155,000•Remote

About The Position

The Analytics Business Partner is embedded in IEM’s Data and Analytics team and serves as a trusted data partner to leaders in an assigned business area. The role combines business partnership with end-to-end ownership of analytics delivery, using BI and AI tools to help leaders understand performance, investigate changes, and make evidence-based decisions. The position works with the Business Analytics team and is supported by the Data Platform team for data models and pipelines. It offers direct access to leadership and influence over how IEM, a manufacturer with more than $1 billion in scale, operates. The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of the supported business area, form informed interpretations of what the data indicates, and help leadership act on findings. They will shape the area’s analytics roadmap, define and maintain trusted metrics, improve data quality with system owners, build and validate analytics products, support recurring business reviews and reporting, and increase data capability and adoption among users. This position is fully remote within the United States and may require up to 20% travel to IEM facilities. The role reports to the Director, Business Analytics. The stated salary range is $120,000–$155,000.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in BI, analytics, or a data-driven operations role, with a track record of analysis that changed business decisions.
  • Real knowledge of the business area to be supported, or years of embedded experience within that type of team.
  • Ability to investigate questionable metrics by forming and testing hypotheses and explaining findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience using Tableau and AI tools to build analytics and accelerate analysis, with examples of their impact.
  • Consultative judgment and confidence to tell leaders what they need to know, not only what they requested.
  • Experience working across multiple source systems and with system-owning subject-matter experts, including reconciling definitions and building trust in data.
  • Strong judgment in presenting data and evaluating whether AI-built results are correct.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake and dbt, or demonstrated ability to learn them quickly, to work closely with Analytics Engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, including ERP data structures.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with business-area leaders to understand their problems, determine what data is needed and whether it is available and accurate, interpret the data, and challenge questions that are not the right ones to ask.
  • Investigate changes in KPIs, identify root causes, and provide recommendations rather than only reporting results.
  • Own the analytics roadmap for the assigned area by shaping requests, prioritizing work based on business value and ROI, and deciding what to build, retire, or address without a dashboard.
  • Work with subject-matter experts to define KPIs and document business logic to Business Analytics standards; partner with Analytics Engineers to implement metrics in the governed data layer.
  • Work with system owners and the Data Platform team to identify and resolve data-quality issues, reconcile definitions, and drive fixes at the source.
  • Design, build, maintain, validate, and quality-check end-to-end analytics for the area using BI and AI tools, with the analytical story included.
  • Partner with Analytics Engineers on dbt models and certified data sources, and with Data Engineers when new source data is needed.
  • Help design and run operating reviews, support planning and goal-setting, and own recurring leadership reporting, including written summaries explaining what changed and why.
  • Train users, drive analytics adoption, and help leaders become comfortable answering their own questions.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support employee well-being, growth, and long-term success.
