Requirements

  • You hold a degree in engineering or business administration/management, project management, or possess equivalent relevant experience.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in aerospace engineering and/or business management.
  • You have a strong understanding of budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control.
  • You are fully bilingual (French/English) and comfortable presenting and addressing senior executives/directors.
  • You must be able to identify problems and propose solutions, demonstrating sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • You are creative in problem-solving, accountable, highly organized, and have a strong customer-focused approach when managing internal stakeholders.
  • You are process-oriented and have expertise in competency management.
  • You have a solid understanding of project management and knowledge of Part 21/AS9100 regulations is an asset.
  • You have strong knowledge of knowledge management and continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
  • You are highly proficient in spreadsheets and data analysis applications (e.g., Looker Studio, Qlik Sense).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate budget definition activities with portfolio managers, the finance department, and the Ho department.
  • Develop and maintain the main capacity model.
  • Monitor results and budget forecasts to ensure compliance with the operating plan and support decision-making.
  • Provide monthly reports analyzing financial and performance data to the Director of Engineering.
  • Drive the decision-making process regarding recruitment or subcontracting based on make/buy policy, budget, human resources, and the organization’s strategic competency priorities.
  • Identify gaps between program requirements and the available budget and resources.
  • Measure business performance through the collection, consolidation, and synthesis of performance indicators and lead reviews with department heads.
  • Define, map, document, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve engineering activity management processes within your scope.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and departments such as finance, human resources, and procurement.
  • Develop a network of colleagues within Airbus Europe and Airbus Canada to share working methods and implement best practices.
  • Lead the transfer and support of continuous improvement concepts, principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps for improving engineering activities.
  • Manage the technical/relational competency matrix, anticipate the organization’s future needs, and lead knowledge management (KM) initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of “Make” and “Extended Make” subcontracting strategies, technical specifications, and service level agreements.
  • Lead the identification and quantification of risks and opportunities to support decision-making and the implementation of mitigation/improvement plans.
