About The Position

The Analyst 2 plays a critical role in conducting data analysis, generating insights, and providing strategic recommendations to support decision-making processes within the department. This position involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex data sets, developing models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven strategies and initiatives.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze complex datasets.
Experience in developing and implementing predictive models, machine learning algorithms, or other advanced analytics techniques.
Solid understanding of statistical concepts, methodologies, and data visualization principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a curious mindset and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive data with discretion.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Experience in the industry or domain relevant to the district’s is desirable.
Proficient in using scripting languages and data manipulation libraries (e.g., Python, Pandas) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Analyze large and complex datasets using statistical methods, data modeling, and advanced analytics techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop and maintain predictive models, algorithms, and forecasting methodologies to support data-driven decision-making.
Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and visualizations that effectively communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, data engineers, and other analysts, to understand business objectives and provide actionable insights.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and deep dives into specific business questions or challenges to support strategic initiatives and projects.
Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.
Participate in data-related projects and initiatives, providing analytical support and contributing to project goals and objectives.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data availability, accessibility, and security.
Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Maintain a strong understanding of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to data analysis and privacy.
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all data analysis and reporting activities.
