About The Position

The Analyst 2 plays a critical role in conducting data analysis, generating insights, and providing strategic recommendations to support decision-making processes within the department. This position involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex data sets, developing models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven strategies and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze complex datasets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing predictive models, machine learning algorithms, or other advanced analytics techniques.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts, methodologies, and data visualization principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a curious mindset and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive data with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience in the industry or domain relevant to the district’s is desirable.
  • Proficient in using scripting languages and data manipulation libraries (e.g., Python, Pandas) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets using statistical methods, data modeling, and advanced analytics techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models, algorithms, and forecasting methodologies to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and visualizations that effectively communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, data engineers, and other analysts, to understand business objectives and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and deep dives into specific business questions or challenges to support strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.
  • Participate in data-related projects and initiatives, providing analytical support and contributing to project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data availability, accessibility, and security.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to data analysis and privacy.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all data analysis and reporting activities.
